By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Explain how antibiotic resistance emerges and spreads, and its dramatic consequences.
  • Describe the epidemiology of resistance in humans, animals, and the environment.
  • Apply laboratory methods for diagnosing and identifying antibiotic resistance.
  • Follow recommendations to prevent the emergence of resistance in humans and farm animals, through better control of antibiotic prescribing.
  • Analyze pathways for replacing antibiotics or bringing new antibacterial agent molecules to market.

This course is recorded in English, with subtitles available in English, French, and Spanish. Registration is completely free. Once registered, participants can follow the classes at their own pace and retain access to the videos.

In addition, those who wish may obtain a certificate after successfully completing an online exam (optional and paid, €150).
