Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CULS), Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources, is inviting post doc to take a job in the Centre of Excellence (within the project “Centre for the investigation of synthesis and transformation of nutritional substances in the food chain in interaction with potentially harmful substances of athropogenic origin: comprehensive assessment of soil contamination risks for the quality of agricultural products”, reg. no. CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/16_019/0000845).

Topic: The assessment of soil biological parameters as affected by inorganic and organic soil contaminants
Objectives/Job description:
Seeking the person with these skills and qualities: Comprehensive assessment of the changes in the microbial biomass carbon, the changes in phospholipid fatty acid (PLFA) content in the contaminated soil, and the changes in the soil enzymatic activities as affected by the type and concentration of wide scale of inorganic (risk elements) and organic (PPCPs) soil contaminants.
Establishment, conduction and evaluation of the laboratory incubation and pot experiments to elucidate the soil-soil microbiome, and soil microbiome-plant interactions in the potential stabilization/degradation pattern of the contaminants in soil.
To be considered for a position, applicants must meet all these requirements:
- Post-doc status: holder of PhD, qualification completed within last 7 years.
- Minimum qualification: two published scientific papers within last three years

About the employer:
Department of Agroenvironmental Chemistry and Plant Nutrition is focused on the maintenance of soil fertility, the research of potentially toxic elements and PPCPs in the soilplant relationship evaluation, and on the restoration of contaminated soil. Department is sufficiently experienced in model pot experiments in outdoor weather-controlled vegetation hall, rhizobox experiments under controlled conditions as well as in the model field experiments.
