Premio Fleming al mejor articulo científico. Edición 2026

Dear members of the specialized group Filamentous Fungi and Yeasts: We are pleased to inform you that the deadline for submitting applications to apply for this position is now open. "Premio Fleming 2026”:

This award is awarded biennially to a relevant research work in the field of Mycology carried out in a laboratory in Spain.

Bases of the call:

Application submission deadline: from May 1 to 20, 2026 (inclusive).

The work may be presented (sent) by any signatory of the article who belongs to the Specialized Filamentous Fungi and Yeast group of the SEM. Said work must be an original article published during the years 2024 to 2025 (both included) in a journal included in ISI. Participants must send the article in PDF format simultaneously to two email addresses: the president and the secretary of the specialized group, Mª Angeles de la Torre. mariaangeles.delatorre@udl.cat and Javier Jimenez jjimenez@uic.es, within the stipulated period.

The Board of Directors of the specialized group of “Filamentous Fungi and Yeasts” of the SEM, or a commission designated by it, will be in charge of evaluating the works presented and determining the winner of the contest. The scientific relevance of the results will prevail in this decision. The award may be declared void if, in the opinion of the jury, the works presented do not meet sufficient quality.

The Fleming Prize will consist of:

  1. Accrediting diploma to the first signatory, which will be officially delivered at an event to be held during the XVII National Congress of Mycology, which will take place in Córdoba, from September 7 to 9, 2026, https://www.congresonacionalmicologiacordoba2026.com/.
  2. 500 Euros in cash.
  3. Invitation to present the work at the closing talk of the XVII National Congress of Mycology.

  • Academic data: degree and specialization.
  • Billing information.

5. WHAT IS THE LEGITIMATION OF THE PROCESSING OF USER DATA?

The treatment of the User's data by the SEM is based on the consent that is requested and that you can withdraw at any time. However, in case of withdrawing your consent, this will not affect the legality of the treatments carried out previously.
