Microbiology Courses - Online

Frequent questions

In principle, anyone interested in Microbiology will be able to take the SEM Training Courses online, although obviously, to follow them, certain minimum notions of Microbiology must be taken into account. The courses are designed for Graduates, Graduates or Engineers but are also accessible to undergraduate students, FPIs, technical personnel of companies, or those who use Microbiology tools in their daily activity and wish to increase their training in this area.
They are carried out "DISTANCE" through the Internet, which allows the student to use the most appropriate schedule and that is compatible with their work and family life. To do this, you only need a computer and an Internet connection to access the documentation and other course information. The teaching resources are hosted on a server that is accessed by individualized password. Each course is assigned one or more tutors who are in charge of preparing the study documentation, answering questions, guiding student learning and monitoring continuous assessments. The student has all the documentation at the beginning of the course, which he downloads from the Virtual Campus on the Internet. Throughout the course, the student will be able to contact their Tutor Teacher through the course's Virtual Classroom, via the Internet, in order to clarify any doubts that may arise or expand on specific concepts. Distance training requires regularity and discipline from the first week of the course. On average, about 5 hours per week should be dedicated to each Course.
Evaluation. The evaluation will be continuous through the on-line realization of the Test-type exams of each of the Didactic Units that make up the agenda of each course.
Certificate of Aptitude. Students who have followed any of the courses and demonstrate their aptitude through the timely completion of the exercises and pass the online exams are entitled to a CERTIFICATE OF APTITUDE in DIPLOMA format. All on-line SEM Training Courses have been approved by the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Microbiology, for this reason the Diploma awarded is a SEM Diploma.
All on-line SEM Training Courses are equivalent to 4 ECTS credits. One ECTS credit is equivalent to 26 hours of academic work per student.
Price. The price per course is 250 ??. For members of the Spanish Society of Microbiology it is 150 ??. The price includes access to online course documentation, exercises and evaluations, the corresponding Diploma and access to scholarships awarded for academic performance.
Scholarships For each course, 10% scholarships will be awarded (1 scholarship for every 10 students enrolled), consisting of the full refund of tuition to those students who have obtained the best results at the end of the course.
Pre-registration. Those interested in taking the online SEM Training courses must send their data to Ana M. Garcia. Pre-registration is open all year round and there is no closing date, but it is recommended to do it as soon as possible since there is a limit on the number of students admitted per course, and the order of preference is pre-registration. Once the pre-registration for the course is confirmed, the student must formalize the registration.
Registration and Payment. Once the pre-registration has been completed and accepted by the Online SEM Training Courses Secretariat, the student will be instructed by e-mail of the instructions to follow to formalize their registration and make the payment. Payment must be paid before the course start date.
