A person interested in joining the Humboldt research project is sought, funded by the AEI, focused on the study of the impact of chronic grazing disturbance on the edaphic processes, the decomposition of the leaf litter and the microbiota of the soil, in the context of climate change in dry tropical forests of southern Ecuador.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
- Evaluate the effect of grazing on the decomposition of leaf litter.
- Analyze the resistance and resilience of the edaphic microbiota in front of the drought.
- Study the consequences on ecosystem services of the soil.
Profile of the candidate:
- Master in Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Soil Sciences or related (highly valued).
- Interest in carrying out a doctoral thesis within the framework of the project (very desirable).
- High motivation and good academic file.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team.
- Availability for field work in Ecuador and short stays in other countries.
- High level of English.
- Knowledge in statistical analysis (R, linear models, multivariate analysis, etc.).
