FPU Scholarship - Nanotechnology and Diagnosis Project of emerging viruses

A candidate is sought to carry out a doctoral thesis in our research group, requesting FPU aid in the call of 2025.
The candidate will be incorporated into a line focused on the development of dendritic nanosystems applied to the diagnosis of viral infections, within the framework of the project "Dendritic nanosystems applied to the diagnosis of the western Nile virus (Denawest)”.
The objective is to design and optimize rapid, sensitive and affordable diagnostic methods based on nanotechnology for high sanitary impact viruses, such as the western Nile virus.
Orientative profile of the candidate
- Being in possession of a master's degree (or being enrolled in an official master's degree in the 2025/2026 course) that gives access to a doctoral program in the 2026/2027 course.
- Have finished degree/degree studies after January 1, 2022 (with exceptions according to the call).
- Possess an excellent academic file (average grade greater than 8.8 to have real options)
- Other valuable merits: previous experience in research (collaboration scholarships, TFG/TFM related to the project), scientific contributions (publications, communications to congresses), awards or mentions of academic excellence, national or international mobility (erasto+), high level of English and other relevant technical competences.

It is offered
The selected person will acquire experience in: design and application of nanotechnology and biosensors; production and characterization of monoclonal antibodies; Antibody conjugation with functionalized nanoparticles; and optimization of detection platforms in clinical and public health environments.
The work will be developed in a multidisciplinary environment (biology, pharmacy, microbiology, bioinformatics and statistics) integrated into cyberinfec, with collaboration options and national and international stays.
