offer description
Are you passionate about biomedical research and the challenge of developing new tools for the diagnosis of infectious diseases? In our team we use cutting-edge technologies such as nanotechnology to protect global health. We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with your talent and motivation to join us!
We offer the opportunity to apply for a prestigious Juan de la Cierva 2025 contract to develop a cutting-edge line of research at the CNM-ISCIII. The selected candidate will work with us to prepare a competitive application for the call
official of the State Investigation Agency (AEI).
Main research line
The project focuses on the development of innovative nano-platforms for the rapid diagnosis of emerging viral infections. The goal is to create ultrasensitive, affordable and easy-to-use diagnostic systems, applying nanomaterials for the detection of viruses
of great impact on public health such as Dengue, West Nile Virus or Hepatitis C. Your work will directly contribute to improving the response capacity against future viral threats.
Candidate profile (2025 call requirements)
- Date of obtaining the doctorate: It must be between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2025 Note: The period may be extended depending on the interruption cases that appear in the call (e.g. maternity/paternity, sick leave
medical, etc.). Consult us if this is your case. - Mobility requirement (essential): Not having completed predoctoral training at the ISCIII.
- Scientific career: A competitive CV, with impact scientific publications (preferably as first author), participation in research projects and relevant contributions.
- Valuable experience: Previous experience in
nanotechnology, biosensor development, virology, immunology or related fields.
What do we offer?
- 3-year postdoctoral contract in a national reference research center.
- Competitive financing: The aid includes €35,000 per year for the contract (with a minimum gross salary of €30,600/year) and additional funding of €15,000 to cover research expenses, mobility stays, attendance at conferences and purchase of equipment.
- Multidisciplinary environment: You will join a dynamic team with experts in biology, pharmacy, microbiology and bioinformatics, forming part of the CIBER of Infectious Diseases (CIBERINFEC).
- Professional development: You will gain experience in biosensor design, antibody production, nanoparticle functionalization, and validation of new diagnostic technologies in a clinical environment. We encourage collaboration and stays in national and international centers.
