The Pasteur Institute of Lille, an institute of Excellence in Biology and Biomedical Research, is opening a position for a talented, dynamic and motivated junior investigator to develop an ambitious project on infectious diseases and/or antimicrobial resistance. This position will be
funded by a program supported by the French Ministry of Research, the Region Hauts de France, the European Metropole of Lille and the Inserm.

The candidate will develop a project related to the following topics:
1- Identify the molecular, cellular and pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the emergence of drug-resistant pathogenic microorganisms.
2- Develop innovative interventions (vaccines, immunomodulators, drugs) to prevent or fight diseases caused by bacteria, viruses or parasites resistant to current therapeutics.

The candidate will integrate the Center for Infection and Immunity of Lille (https://www.ciil.fr/), a research center dedicated to infectious diseases and located on the campus of the Institut Pasteur de Lille. The Institut Pasteur de Lille is a member of the International Pasteur Network which gathers 33 institutes worldwide, united by the Pasteurian values, which contributes to the improvement of global health. The close link with the Drug discovery Unit (U1177; www.deprezlab.fr), the Institute for Translational Research in Inflammation (INFINITE U1286; lille-inflammation-research.org) and the hospital campus (www.chu-lille.fr) is a strong add-in value to perform fundamental and translational researches.

The successful candidate will benefit from an appropriate laboratory space to establish her/his independent group and will have access to state-of-the-art core facilities (OMICs platforms, flow cytometry, imaging, NGS, BSL2/BSL3 laboratories). Other cutting-edge facilities are
accessible through an integrated local network of platforms (https://ums-plbs.univ-lille.fr/). The Institut Pasteur de Lille is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusivity. The selection will be based on scientific criteria only. The selected candidate will be offered attractive start-up package for 3-years. The candidate must meet criteria to compete for national and international research funding including start-up programs such as ERC and/or ATIP/AVENIR grants. The Institut Pasteur de Lille will assist the candidate during the
application process for tenured positions at CNRS or Inserm.
