Major hospital in southeast Ireland requires a doctor consultant in microbiology for at least 12 months.

Position for consultant in hospital-based microbiology along with the other four microbiologists consultants for the “regional” clinical microbiology service area of ​​the south east of Ireland, providing service for the 4 hospitals in the area, as well as the diagnostic laboratory microbiology service for these 4 hospitals and for all general practitioners, public health, district hospitals, other community hospitals in counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Waterford and South Tipperary.

 

It provides a quality clinical and public health Microbiology laboratory service, of great prestige at the national level in Ireland, fully accredited according to the ISO standard that operates from the Hospital.

 

Benefits:

 

  • Initial contract for 12 months + extension.
  • Approximate net monthly salary of €9,000-€12,000 net/month (new POCC 2023) after taxes and pension deductions for management positions Consultant depending on experience. You could have the chance to earn more money through private patients.
  • Possibility of charging through the agency as locums 90-120€/hour (+VAT). The agency will help the doctor to establish themselves as a company or under an “umbrella company” if they wish to use this type of agreement and, in this case, shorter contracts, up to a minimum of 1-2 months, may be offered.
  • 31 business days per year of vacation + national holidays (there are 10 in a year).
