Offer and line of research

The RhizoRNA group (Estación Experimental del Zaidín, CSIC, Granada;) is looking for a postdoctoral researcher interested in applying for a Juan de la Cierva contract in the 2025 call.

The candidate would join a consolidated line of research on the genetic-molecular foundations and biotechnological applications of gene regulation by non-coding RNAs in bacteria. From the perspective of fundamental biology, we seek to understand how RNA regulation contributes to the ecological specialization of bacteria with complex biology, such as leguminous plant symbionts. To achieve this, cutting-edge genomic, molecular-genetic and biochemical technologies are used.

We also use synthetic biology to engineer regulatory circuits based on RNA plasticity and its application in agrobiotechnology. From a biotechnology perspective, this line of work has transversal implications in areas such as biomedicine, the environment and industrial microbiology.

We develop this line of research in collaboration with several national and foreign groups.

Candidate requirements

  • Obtaining the doctorate between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2025.
  • Not having completed predoctoral training at the EEZ-CSIC.
  • Scientific vocation, high motivation and competitive CV to attend the call.
  • Experience in the field of microbiology, molecular biology, synthetic biology, bioinformatics and related fields will be an advantage.
