The Abobiotech Gir (created in 2023) focuses its scientific activity on the study and development of new biotechnological application tools in the improvement of productivity and quality of agricultural crops. Within these tools, its main line of research is based on the study of Endophyte microorganisms (mainly fungi) capable of promoting plant growth and/or act as agents of biologic control of agricultural diseases. For the development of this line of research we use microbiological approaches (cultural and metagenomic), omic (transcriptomic, metabolomic and hormonomic), of plant and agronomic physiology, in order to address from a basic investigation to the development of true solutions for the problems of the agricultural sector, in the form of commercial microbial bioinoculants.
