Among the lines of research developed by the group, the following stand out: (a) Analysis of the molecular bases of symbiotic mutualistic interactions between microorganisms and plants, especially the case Rhizobium-legume; (b) Study of biodiversity, characterization and analysis of the taxonomic structure of microbial populations involved in interactions with plants and analysis of endophytic plant populations; (c) Improvement of quantitative and qualitative primary production through the design and use of multifunctional microbial biofertilizers (d) Biotechnological applications of microorganisms in agri-food and environmental sustainability processes (e) Analysis of direct and indirect biocontrol agents that favor induction of the defensive response in the plant and (f) biological nitrogen fixation.
