With the call for this award, endowed with 50,000 euros, the Francisco Soria Melguizo Foundation seeks to promote the development of health research and contribute to promoting excellence and the advancement of biomedical knowledge, as well as its dissemination to society. The Francisco Soria Melguizo Award wants to recognize the trajectory of those entities and institutions that have dedicated their activity, clinical or research, to the field of Microbiology, and whose merits and contributions made to the development of that area of biomedical knowledge are especially notable.
