As already communicated in the SEM @ forum of December 2020, the SEM Board of Directors decided that our XXVIII National Congress of Microbiology will be held in virtual format, during the days June 28 to July 2 2021. We are currently working on the scientific program and the website, which will be available shortly. The scientific program is being prepared by the Board of Directors of the SEM, and includes a series of sessions grouped into three general thematic axes: Global health, Environmental microbiology and Microbial biotechnology.
The program has concentrated on morning sessions, leaving the afternoons free. Every day there will be three simultaneous sessions related to these thematic axes, dedicating the first part of them to junior lecturers who will be selected by the Organizing Committee among the candidates who present their summaries to said sessions, and a second part of each session in which Three invited speakers will intervene. Next, there will be a presentation session of the communications in e-poster format, which will be selected by the boards of directors of the specialized groups of the SEM. At the end of each morning, a joint session will take place in which two researchers, preferably international ones, will take part on topics of great relevance in Microbiology. The closing conference of the congress will be given by Dr. Álvaro San Millán Cruz, Jaime Ferrán 2021 award winner. Additionally, first thing in the afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday we plan to organize a series of mentoring sessions for researchers who present their works in poster format, which we already had the opportunity to organize in the previous congress held in Malaga with remarkable success. The schedule of the sessions and their daily distribution is attached below.
The deadline for sending abstracts to the congress (both for sessions on specific topics, such as oral communications or in e-poster and mentoring format) It will be May 15, 2021.
In order to facilitate the greatest possible participation of microbiologists in this event, which commemorates the 75th anniversary of the founding of the SEM, very affordable registration fees have been set:
– SEM members: 60 euros (until May 28) and 80 euros (as of May 29).
– SEM students: 30 euros (until May 28) and 40 euros (as of May 29).
– Non-members of SEM: 100 euros (until May 28) and 120 euros (as of May 29).
– Non-SEM students: 60 euros (until May 28) and 80 euros (as of May 29).
The European Federation of Microbiology Societies (FEMS) has granted a grant to the congress, which will make it possible to offer up to a maximum of 100 grants to young SEM researchers who present a communication, which includes the cost of registration for the congress and an accrediting diploma. We encourage all microbiologists to actively participate in the congress, the 75th anniversary of our society. More detailed information will be sent shortly, which will be available through the congress website.
Stay tuned to your screens!

Hello.
I am a doctoral student at the University of Córdoba. I am interested in participating in this congress, but I cannot find the template for the abstract to send or how to send it to you. Could you help me?
Thanks in advance.
A cordial greeting.
