The service howCommunication of the University of Salamanca reports that researchers Rocío Roca Couso, José David Flores Félix, Paula García Fraile, Encarna Velázquez and Raúl Rivas, from the Microbiology area of said university, in collaboration with José Mariano Igual, researcher at the Institute of Natural Resources and Agrobiology of Salamanca (IRNASA -CSIC), have published an article in the magazine International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, in which they describe a new bacterial genus, named how Ferranicluibacter in honor of the Spanish doctor and bacteriologist Jaime Ferrán y Clúa. The described species bears the name of Ferranicluibacter rubi.
